December Book Haul

As a book lover, I rejoice when it gets to December as it means Christmas is coming and you have yet another excuse to be given books!

This Christmas I was very lucky with my presents and was gifted a few books, as well as some money that I also spent on books… (I don’t have a problem I swear!)

So without further ado here is my haul;Screen Shot 2018-01-05 at 17.27.50

Screen Shot 2018-01-05 at 17.28.09Michael Steps into the crumbling garage. What is this thing beneath the spiders’ webs and dead flies? A human being, or strange kind of beast never seen before? The only person Michael can confide in is Mina. Together they carry the creature into the light, and Michael’s world changes forever…

Screen Shot 2018-01-05 at 17.28.23It had all spiralled so terribly out of control. They felt betrayed by themselves. After all, they weren’t at university any more. This sort of nonsense had to stop.
Join Julian, George, Dick, Anna and Timmy the dog as they share the same New Year’s Resolution – no alcohol for a month. But how will they manage it, with an imminent stag do and wedding to attend?

Screen Shot 2018-01-05 at 17.28.33Lily’s always been surrounded by love.
Ever since her mother died, she’s been cared for by friends who are as close as any family.
Coral, her mum’s best friend, Patsy, her old babysitter – even Dan, Patsy’s incorrigible younger brother – have always been there for her.
But when the chance comes to meet the man who was the love of her mother’s life, Lily knows she has to take it. Getting to know him could change everything, and not just for Lily…

Screen Shot 2018-01-05 at 17.28.42When a man is found stabbed and floating beneath the cliffs of the Newfoundland coast, the small outpost of Hampden is swept up in a storm of suspicion and paranoia.

Grief-stricken and still struggling to cope with the death of one of their own a year earlier, the troubled Now family are among the first to be suspected of the killing. As the mystery around the murdered man unfolds, the lies spiral, the stakes rise and the once close-knit town becomes a prison that no one can escape.

Screen Shot 2018-01-05 at 17.28.59Dylan Jones’s engrossing, magisterial biography of David Bowie is unlike any Bowie story ever written. Drawn from over 180 interviews with friends, rivals, lovers and collaborators, some of whom have never before spoken about their relationship with Bowie, this oral history weaves a hypnotic spell as it unfolds the story of a remarkable rise to stardom and an unparalleled artistic path.

Screen Shot 2018-01-05 at 17.28.49The violent death of a local sex offender puts intense pressure on the police officers at East Rise incident room. Under constant scrutiny, they must treat this case like any other murder. But how can they feel sympathy knowing the terrible things Albie Woodville did?

However, as the investigation progresses, it becomes clear this isn’t just a one-off killing – someone is out for revenge…

There are some pretty intense books in there! But since watching some new crime dramas from BBC and ITV that I have loved! I thought it was about time to start reading them too, as I know I will be enthralled by the stories.

Have you got any book recommendations for me to read? Let me know in the comments!
