It’s Roald Dahl Day!
This is a special day for all Roald Dahl fans, as 13th September marks the day that the man, the myth, the legend Roald Dahl was born. It’s now the day that fans honour their favourite children’s authors life by digging out his books for yet another read.
I have fond memories of Roald Dahl from when I was a child, my brothers and I all loved the stories, my favourite being Matilda.
The first Roald Dahl Day was held in 2006, it’s a fun way for schools and fans alike to celebrate the fun, captivating novels that have been loved by thousands of people.
A fair few of them have been made into films, so why not catch up on the films on a wet Sunday afternoon?

I’ve written a few posts on it but wouldn’t dream of quoting them here. My favourites are The Way Up to Heaven, Skin and Beware of the Dog. I’d love to go to the museum. He’s actually one of the reasons I got into reading. The teacher would read a few chapters a week and I got so impatient I got the books myself and improved my reading level. I owe him a lot.
