Being young and just out of uni it’s often hard to give yourself a holiday before you have to, you know, become an adult. So when my boyfriend came up with the idea to save money and go on a staycation I was more than happy to go exploring.
We packed up our car with a tent and ventured to a small village in Suffolk called Sweffling, Saxmundham.
There was a group of 7 of us who took the trip to the quaint village and it was one of the best weekends of this year (even if we were mobbed by friendly chickens on the camp site in the morning!)
We chose Saxmundham because we were close enough to go to the Adnams brewery in Southwold and to be able to go into the quirky shops the sea side town has to offer.
I have always had a love of camping, we stayed at Alde Garden a hidden campsite in the heart of Suffolk, it was quirky accommodation with a camp fire, jungle shower and a pub (which was as big as a living room!)
If you’re looking for a quiet and friendly place to stay for an affordable staycation this year you need to check it out.
Here are some pictures from the weekend exploring around Sweffling, Saxmundham and Southwold.
