You’ve all heard of him, he’s the ultimate chick flick creator. Ever feel like you need a good ol’ cry at a film and you’re not sure what to watch? Do you like Hugh Grant, Colin Firth and Bill Nighy? Just grab a blanket, some ice cream and put one of his on.

You’ve got the classics, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill and Bridget Jones but you also have newer ones, like About Time (pictured at the top of the page).
These were all filmed (mainly) in London and were produced by Working Title.
Whilst seeking out these locations and matching up the stills, I couldn’t help but notice that these ordinary locations of back street flats and busy restaurants have become much busier tourist locations. From Bridget Jones’ flat being behind the Globe Tavernor Notting Hill being filmed in the middle of Portobello Marketthey have all become such popular locations for the avid viewer of his films.

Curtis Facts!
In many of his films, a character named Bernard recurs, and is reportedly based on MP Bernard Jenkin who Curtis’ university girlfriend left him for.
“Bernard” has appeared in many films, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Love Actually, Notting Hill and Bridget Jones’s Diary to name a few.

Director and producer, Richard Curtis shows that you don’t have to use huge studios or even have a huge budget, you can use real locations and still get the same amount of impact.
