World Book Day

Today is a day to celebrate authors, illustrators, books and reading!

The day of celebration was thought up by UNESCO in an attempt to encourage young people to read more, in over 100 countries around the world.

This year marks the 19th year of World Book Day, children get involved by going to school dressed up as their favourite book character to get together and appreciate reading . World Book Day aims to give every child and young person under the age of 18 a token to go to participating booksellers and choose one book out of ten and then purchase the exclusive book for just £1.

I love the idea of world book day, lets just keep appreciating books!

Who would you dress up as for World Book Day? I’d be someone from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
